Hotel Heidelberger Hof
The hotel lies right by the busy Sofienstraße and Bismarckplatz, which can also be disturbing. The view to the other direction, down the street Plöck, is more pleasant, and the street is a lot more quiet than the well travelled Sofienstraße.

Location
The Hotel Heidelberger Hof is located in the beautiful Old Town of Heidelberg not far from the Hauptstraße. In only a few steps you can reach the popular pedestrian zone from the hotel. The Darmstädter Hof Centrum is also just around the corner for one or two shopping trips. Thus, one finds everything what the shopping heart desires in the immediate proximity.
The Heidelberg Castle can be reached by a pleasant walk through the Hauptstraße and then, if you don’t want to walk, by taking the mountain railway. If you prefer to continue walking, you can also start the ascent on foot directly at Kornmarkt.
If you like to visit impressively built churches, you can reach the St. Peter’s Church and also the Church of the Holy Spirit at the market place simply by walking through the Hauptstraße. If you still haven’t had enough after sightseeing in the Old Town, a walk on the other side of the Neckar along the Neckarwiese or on the Philosophers’ Path can be another way to stretch your feet.
If, for example, you want to go to the other side of the Neckar, to the Neckarwiese, you can simply take the bus. The large bus and tram stop Bismarckplatz is located right next to the hotel. There you will find many bus connections in different directions of Heidelberg.
Directions
The hotel is located almost directly at the Sofienstraße, which is easy to find without having to drive around.
If you come to Heidelberg by car, switch from the A5 to the A656 at the Heidelberg interchange (Autobahnkreuz Heidelberg); in town it becomes the B37, and thus reach the Old Town the fastest way. If you come by plane and rent a car, it would be the same way from Frankfurt via the A5.
A few houses away, there is the hotel’s underground parking garage where you can park your car for a daily fee. You can also search for a parking space in the alleys of the Old Town. The chance that it is so close to the hotel will be rather small, though.
If you are traveling by public transport, it is best to get off at Heidelberg Hauptbahnhof (main station) and take bus number 32 in the direction of Universitätsplatz to Bismarckplatz or tram number 21 in the direction of Bismarckplatz. This is only a stone’s throw away from Heidelberger Hof. The way from the stop to the hotel is also possible with heavy luggage if you arrive by public transport. Just make sure you don’t travel at rush hour with your suitcases, otherwise the bus and train could be quite crowded.
From Bismarckplatz you simply walk towards the former Galeria Kaufhof building, pass it on the left and turn left into the small street. Then you are directly in front of the Hotel Heidelberger Hof.
The Hotel
What was once known as the Nassauer Hof has become the Heidelberger Hof. The Heidelberger Hof is a 4 star hotel and is family-run. Since 1921, the relatively small city hotel has proved its worth at its place in Heidelberg.
The hotel only offers breakfast, but due to the location of the hotel this is not a big deal. The Heidelberger Hof is located at the southern edge of the Old Town, which is why the way to the main street is not far. This means that those who want to have lunch and dinner will not have far to go, as the streets around Bismarckplatz also offer many possibilities to eat.
The reception of this Heidelberg hotel is opened from 6 - 22 o’clock. If nobody is present, there is a bell at the entrance door. The check-in times start from 2 pm and the latest check out is possible until 11 am.
Our dear pets are allowed here for a small change.
Equipment and services
Although the Heidelberger Hof is not the largest hotel, it still offers a fitness area and a small sauna. Everyone knows how stressful sightseeing can be. A few moments in the sauna can work miracles. And if you can or want to take care of your physical fitness during your city trip, the fitness area in the hotel is just made for you.
If you don’t like to tidy up or make the bed, the daily cleaning service will do it for you. And if your favorite trousers get dirty on a trip to the Philosophers’ Path, you can have them washed by the service for a little change at the hotel.
If you reach Heidelberg before the check-in times, you can also leave your luggage at the hotel so that you can set off to explore Heidelberg immediately after your arrival. You can also leave your luggage at the hotel after you have checked out of your room if you want to enjoy a last view of Heidelberg from the castle or if you want to shop for souvenirs in the Hauptstraße.
If you are traveling with your children, there is an extra child-friendly buffet for them and if they are bored, there are even some board games on site when the smartphone is not at hand. For small children there are also baby cribs in this hotel.
The Heidelberger Hof offers you a variety of arrangements. For example, there have been arrangements for wedding couples or combined with dinner in the city; current packages are listed on the hotel’s website.
In addition to the service in the hotel, you can also book a variety of tickets for attractions or one of the many city tours. The city tour is also available with an additional boat trip, which is certainly recommended when the weather is good.
If you are looking for a location for a conference, the Heidelberger Hof also offers a room equipped with modern technology. The room is also perfectly suited for an event, such as a birthday party.
The rooms
With 21 rooms, including single and double rooms, and a junior suite, the number of guests at the hotel is always very manageable. All rooms are non-smoking, which means that if you are a smoker, you need to go out for some fresh air for your morning cigarette.
The rooms are equipped with a television with international programs, a radio, a bathroom with a shower or a bathtub, a safe, free wireless internet, a desk, a hair dryer and a cosmetic mirror in the bathroom. Some of the double and single rooms are also equipped with air conditioning. They can all be reached via the elevator, so you don’t have to lug your suitcases up the stairs.
If you are in Heidelberg with a larger group, some of the rooms can be used as 3- or 4-bed rooms due to dormitories. Some rooms can also be enlarged by connecting doors. This means that if the group is not divided up in your favor, you may be able to share a room with your favorite fellow travelers.
The Junior Suite also has its own refrigerator. So you can bring your midnight snack in this hotel to your room and keep it cool there.
Conclusion
The Hotel Heidelberger Hof, with its location, is perfect for quickly chopping off your sightseeing to-do list. Due to its size, you can also quickly feel like you are in a 2nd home.

ArtHotel Heidelberg
In front of the library, there are many bikes and cars and also the bus passes the hotel from the university square. The Schlossberg Tunnel, through which many cars find their way every day, ends a few meters above the ArtHotel. But due to the reason that the hotel is not located right at the adjoining street Friedrich-Ebert-Anlage, one only sometimes hears a loud motorcycle.
Europäischer Hof Heidelberg
The volume of the road should not be a problem inside the hotel. By turning into the forecourt, the hotel is arranged like an own little bay around the court. Thus, there are barely any windows that point straight to the street. Already in the lobby, despite the glass doors, one barely hears anything of the hustle and bustle that takes place in front of the entrance.
